Health Ministry paid nothing to acquire 'Jamaica Moves' brand - Tufton

Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says it cost the government nothing to have ownership of the Jamaica Moves brand transferred to the Ministry of  Health.

Dr. Tufton made the disclosure in a tweet on Thursday.

The ministry and its contractor, Market Me, were at loggerheads over the ownership of the brand after it was revealed that the company had registered the name and logo in 2018 as its intellectual property.

Yesterday, Dr. Tufton announced the intellectual property rights have been transferred to his ministry.

He said Jamaica Moves will continue to be the flagship physical activity programme for the ministry.
