The Marymount High School in Highgate in the eastern parish of St. Mary, is in mourning following the death of a student on Monday.
The Ministry of Education is reporting that Abigail Hyman, a Grade 9 student, died following what is suspected to be a heart attack. Abigail who fainted at school in the morning, was taken to a health centre and died afterwards.
Guidance counsellors have been dispatched to the institution to provide grief counselling. Education Minister Ronald Thwaites is also scheduled to visit the school later this week.
