The house owned by the father of a teenager accused of
fatally stabbing another in St. Elizabeth was engulfed in flames Thursday
morning.
The house was seen ablaze shortly after 16-year-old Christopher Powell succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
It is reported that Christopher and 18-year-old Shadar Farquarson, were involved in a dispute which turned deadly just after midnight in the Mitcham community.
Christopher was stabbed repeatedly and rushed to hospital with multiple injuries.
He died just before six a.m.
Just after 7:30 a.m., the house in which Shadar and his father lived was seen ablaze.
The elder Mr. Farquarson is reportedly away while his son fled the community in the wake of the stabbing incident.
District Officer in charge of the Santa Cruz Fire Department, Balford Williams told RJR News arson is suspected.
