INDECOM probing police fatal shooting in St. Elizabeth

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the police fatal shooting of a man in Windsor district in Siloah, St. Elizabeth on Wednesday.
 
He has been identified as Christopher Black, otherwise called 'Voice', a labourer of Windsor district. 
 
The police reported that about 6:40 a.m., personnel went to the area in search of gunmen, drugs, and ammunition.
 
According to the police, the team was challenged by Mr. Black, who they say was armed with a handgun.
 
The police say the fire was returned, during which Mr. Black was shot.
 
The police reported that a .38 revolver loaded with one cartridge was seized.
 
However, residents of Windsor are calling for a thorough probe by INDECOM into the fatal shooting.
 
They told Radio Jamaica News that Mr. Black was a hardworking man, who was not known to be involved in criminal activities.
 
"We nuh feel good bout it. None 'tall wi nuh feel good bout it. All now wi shock, cause dem seh dem find gun pon him and him a duh supm wrong. Him nah do nutn wrong inna di community, more than him just a normal, regular day, drink rum and easy wiself. And di man is a trade man, him have him job; painter him be said way," claimed a community member, who lamented that Mr. Black's children will be left fatherless.
