INDECOM probing triple fatal shooting by police in St. James

By Nakinskie Robinson

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding Tuesday morning's triple police fatal shooting in St. James.

The police watch dog group says no body-worn cameras were reported as issued or worn during the planned operation in which the three men were killed.

The INDECOM team says it is conducting the investigative enquiries including the examination, processing and packaging of evidential material and bodies of the deceased men.

People with information about the identity of the deceased men or general information into the circumstances resulting in the death of the men, are being asked to contact INDECOM.

The commission is reminding that independent witness information is vital in the investigative process. Photos, videos, or information for any incident involving members of the security forces are to be shared via INDECOM's WhatsApp number at 876-553-0000.

INDECOM says year to date, 183 people have been shot and killed by the security forces, 15 of which were fatally shot in December.
