inDrive driver in custody as police probe disappearance of UTech student

An inDrive driver remains in custody for questioning as the police probe the disappearance of University of Technology (UTech) student, 20-year-old Anisa Dilworth, who has been missing since last Tuesday.

Superintendent Mark Harris, head of the St. Andrew Central Police Division, said the ride-share driver was taken into custody on Saturday.

No charges have been laid against the man as he continues to face questions from investigators.

Superintendent Harris said the police have also seized a motor car and are pursuing another person they believe can assist with the investigation. He did not disclose further information on the individual being sought.

But the superintendent said the police are using appropriate technology to assist the investigation. He said investigators are working with JamaicaEye and other agencies to find the missing student.

Anisa, who is from Montego Bay, St. James, had just completed her first year studying pharmaceutical technology at the Papine, St. Andrew-based university and would frequently use ride-share services to get around the Corporate Area.
