Iran launches drones towards Israel

Iran has launched drones toward Israel, according to a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces said.

IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said the Israelis were following the threat in their airspace, but noted that it will take a number of hours for the drones to arrive in Israel. 

The United States had stated several days ago that it expected Iran would retaliate against Israel for an Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

The White House confirmed that President Joe Biden was returning to Washington and would be heading straight to the Situation Room to monitor the evolving situation.
