The People's National Party [PNP] has confirmed attorney Isat Buchanan as its prospective candidate for the constituency of Portland Eastern in the upcoming parliamentary general election.
In a media release on Tuesday, the PNP said Mr. Buchanan is prepared to represent the interests of the constituents with commitment and focus.
It says Buchanan has made significant contributions to community service and advocacy, establishing strong connections with the people of Portland Eastern.
The PNP says Mr Buchanan has set his sights on initiatives such as improving education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for residents.
Isat Buchanan takes the place of Colin Bell who resigned last month because of what he called a lack of support.
Mr Bell was selected last August to challenge Member of Parliament Ann-Marie Vaz of the Jamaica Labour Party.
The PNP says it now has all 63 representatives in place as it prepares to contest the general election, constitutionally due next September.
