Israeli military fires two senior officers over deadly strike on aid workers in Gaza

The Israeli military has sacked two senior officers after seven World Central Kitchen aid workers were killed in a strike in Gaza on Monday.

The Israeli Defence Force's inquiry into the incident says some workers survived initial air strikes, but were killed when a third car was hit.

WCK has called for an independent probe into the killings, saying Israel's apologies represent cold comfort for the victims' families.

The charity and other aid agencies have paused operations in Gaza, where some 1.1 million people are facing catastrophic hunger.
