A fugitive, wanted in the United States for a murder committed 26 years ago, has been arrested by the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch (C-TOC).
Dale Ainsley Ewers, 53, of Mountainside in St. Elizabeth, was arrested in the parish capital, Black River, on Monday.
C-TOC says the arrest followed months of collaboration and investigation involving its detectives and US Law Enforcement agencies.
Mr. Ewers is wanted in Florida for first degree murder, robbery using a deadly weapon, sexual battery and kidnapping with a deadly weapon.
It is alleged that he committed the offences on September 21, 1990 and later fled to Jamaica.
He appeared before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday for extradition proceedings and was remanded until November 8.
