The Meteorological Service of Jamaica is warning the population to prepare for the worst as projections suggest a direct hit by Tropical Storm Beryl on Jamaica by Wednesday.

However, the Met Service says the forecast tracker is indicating that the centre could also pass more than 150 miles or 241 kilometres from Jamaica's coastlines.

PM urges prudence

Despite the more optimistic forecast tracker, Prime Minister Andrew Holness is also urging everyone to be as prepared as possible for any eventuality in relation to the approaching storm.

Mr Holness address the matter on Saturday morning, at Pembroke Hall High School in St. Andrew.
