The confirmed death toll from Hurricane Melissa now stands at 45.
The updated figure was provided by Information Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon at a special media briefing on Hurricane Melissa recovery Tuesday morning.
Two of the deaths occurred in Hanover; 15 in Westmoreland; six in St. James; two in Trelawny; one in St. Ann; one in Portland; and 18 in St. Elizabeth.
Dr. Morris Dixon said 33 post-mortems have been conducted to date.
In the meantime, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management said 15 people have been reported missing.
