Horace Levy, Chairman of Jamaicans for Justice (JFJ) has insisted that a detailed probe be conducted into the actions of the policemen involved in the arrest of a woman in Gordon Town, St. Andrew on July 23.

He said there are outstanding issues despite a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the weekend that no criminal charges should be laid against the cops.

The DPP recommended that a departmental review of their actions be conducted.

Mr. Levy believes that the incident was spurred by anger and this needs to be sufficiently addressed by the Police High Command.

The incident was captured via cell phone video and circulated on social media. The video showed the woman, who was resisting arrest and cursing an officer, being pulled by her hair on the ground. One of the policemen also knelt in her abdomen.

She has been charged with using indecent language and unlawful wounding.
