JIS still without permanent CEO

By Halshane Burke

More than a year after Enthrose Campbell demitted office as head of the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) there is still no word on a permanent replacement.

Celia Lindsay has been acting as head of the agency since January last year.

Radio Jamaica News has learnt that the Office of the Services Commission conducted a round of interviews with three candidates for the top post with one emerging as the preferred contender.

Despite this, there has been no word as to whether both sides have been able to ink a deal to succeed Ms. Campbell.

Sources close to the deliberations have stated that the parties have not been able to agree to the terms and conditions of a contract.

It's not clear how close both sides may be to signing on the dotted line.

There is growing unease in some quarters in relation to the length of time it is taking to install a new Chief Executive Officer to guide the agency.

Ms. Campbell, who succeeded Donna Marie Rowe as CEO, spent almost 30 years at the government's news agency, serving as CEO from October 2023 to December 31 2024.
