Ombri Dawkins and Rohan Brown, JLP supporters in Trelawny Southern

Jamaica Labour Party supporters in Trelawny Southern are calling for the party to re-select former Member of Parliament Marisa Dalrymple Philibert to represent the JLP in the contest for Gordon House.
Scores of placard-bearing supporters gathered in Albert Town square on Monday morning, calling for JLP leader Andrew Holness to give Mrs. Dalrymple Philibert the green light to again represent Trelawny Southern.
The call comes one year, one month and seven days after the former member of Parliament tendered her resignation.
Supporters say despite her resignation, Mrs. Dalrymple Philibert has been working in the constituency.
"When I spoke to her two weeks ago, she had indicated to me that if the party want her to run, she will reconsider and run. And I think that she loves us," said supporter Ombri Dawkins.
Last month, JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang said a candidate for the constituency will be selected before the party's annual general conference, due in November.
But Rohan Brown, another supporter, believes Mrs. Dalrymple Philibert is the best choice for the constituency.
"[She's] our mother, sister, cousin, everything. And without 'Mama D' we don't have any power. No matter what people said, if you don't do any good, you couldn't win three term and going back for the fourth term right now," he reasoned.
The constituency has been without a member of Parliament since Mrs. Dalrymple Philibert's resignation.
She resigned after the publication of an Integrity Commission report and subsequent ruling that she be charged for allegedly making a false statement in her statutory declarations.
Parish Court judge Leighton Morris is to make a decision on December 6, whether the Integrity Commission's case against the former House Speaker will be thrown out or proceed to trial.
