JLP's Crawford files police complaint after campaign posters vandalised

Rhoda Moy Crawford, Member of Parliament for Manchester Central

Member of Parliament for Manchester Central, Rhoda Moy Crawford, has filed a complaint with the Manchester Police after her posters in the constituency were destroyed by vandals on Sunday evening.

The MP says over the last few weeks, vandals have repeatedly targeted and destroyed her posters.

"Over the past weeks, we have gotten reports and I've seen for myself quite a number of our flags or poster boards either being removed or destroyed in the Bonito Crescent area along the May Day Road, a few more taken off from Caledonia Road and Villa Road. Now, this is a clear act of desperation and provocation," she complained.

"I have consistently appealed to my supporters to not respond by retaliating, to remain calm and to maintain the focus, but it has become increasingly difficult to contain the actions of the supporters. These actions do not reflect the position of residents, constituents and voters," said the MP.

The Office of the Political Ombudsman is investigating several complaints filed by candidates of both major political parties about the destruction and or removal of their billboards and posters.
