The Kingston Central Police division is reporting a significant dip in murders.
Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps, head of the Area 4 Police, says the division has not recorded a single murder since November 15 last year, marking two consecutive months without a homicide.
He says this achievement was last recorded seven years ago, in June and July 2018.
ACP Phipps says the reduction is the result of effective collaboration between the police and residents.
"These results reflect the Area 4 commitment to proactive crime prevention, strategic enforcement, and community collaboration. And it is not an isolated success, but was part of a larger ongoing effort to ensure public safety," said the Area 4 commander.
"I know that with the sustained efforts, the Area is on track to meet our 2025 targets, reinforcing the Area commitment to safer communities. And we know that these are our desired objectives and we are on the way to achieving them," he added.
Wanted men
Meanwhile, the police have listed three men as wanted for crimes within the Kingston Central area.
They are Leanardo Campbell, otherwise called 'Lenny'; Courtney Sands, also known as 'Joshua'; and Tavarse Brown, alias 'Brown Chaps' - all of whom are from Allman Town.
The Kingston Central police are urging the public to provide any information regarding the whereabouts of these individuals to assist in their arrest.
