Kingston's mayor vows to focus more on protecting the homeless this year

The Kingston & St. Andrew Municipal Corporation is vowing to pay more attention to combating deadly attacks on homeless people in the Corporate Area this year.

That's the word from Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams.

Mr Williams says the Municipality will be working closely with law enforcement agencies to deal with the problem in the Corporate Area.

Several homeless persons were killed last year and others seriously wounded in violent attacks.

Mayor Williams, in an interview with Radio Jamaica News on Monday appealed to the society to desist from harming the vulnerable.
