A online publication that carries news geared to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender/Transexual and Intersexed (LGBTI), community has picked up the story of the sex scandal involving the former acting Principal of the Christiana High School in Manchester.
The online publication, Gay Star News, said the former Vice Principal - Dervon Wellington, has been threatened after images surfaced online of him and another man in a compromising position.
It said the Vice Principal, who has a wife and children, has not been the only one under threat, claiming that his children's lives have also been threatened since the incident.
The story, published on Friday, also said Wellington has been in hiding since the pictures were posted on social media sites.
Comments that followed the article sympathised with the former Vice Principal and spoke of Jamaica as a homophobic society, and claimed that the country's law enforcement officials do nothing to protect homosexuals against such threats of violence.
Last Friday it was revealed by the school board that the acting Vice Principal had resigned. His letter of resignation was reportedly submitted on Wednesday, the same day that his period of acting in that position would have ended.
Members of Christiana High School's Board met on Friday, and it was decided that they would not be investigating the matter further.
