Man convicted for circulating nude photos of ex-girlfriend online

A man who was accused of circulating nude pictures of his ex-girlfriend on social media was convicted before the St. Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday.

Donovan Coley was fined $500,000 or 12 months in prison after he was convicted of breaching the Cybercrime Act.

Prosecutors reported that in August 2016, Coley, who had a relationship with the complainant, sent nude photos and private text messages shared between the two, to her new boyfriend.

Coley threatened to publish the material after the complainant decided to end their relationship.

The matter was reported to Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) and Coley was arrested and charged.
