The St. Mary police is probing the murder of a man and the wounding of a 12-year-old boy on Monday evening in Boscobel View.
The deceased is 27-year-old Jahvain Whyte, otherwise called 'Ratty', of Bank Lane, Annotto Bay in the parish.
Reports are that about 9 p.m. Monday evening, Mr. Whyte received a call to meet someone in Boscobel about a bike part, when he left home along with the 12-year-old and two other children.
On his way back home, a white Toyota Probox motor car, registered 3105 KO, drove up with men aboard who fired several shots at him, hitting him in the head and upper body and hitting the 12-year-old in his right side.
The police were summoned and residents assisted the boy to hospital where he has been admitted.
