The St. Ann police have confirmed that the driver of a minibus that collided with a motor truck on the Richmond main road near Priory, St. Ann on Wednesday has died.
He has been identified as Douglas Wellington of Port Maria, St. Mary.
The incident occurred about 12:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the traffic light along Richmond.
Police suggest Mr. Wellington died as a result of the collision between both vehicles that had been travelling in opposite directions.
It's understood that on reaching the traffic light, Mr. Wellington swerved into the opposite lane of the oncoming traffic going east and collided head-on with a truck travelling westerly.
Mr. Wellington was pulled from the wreckage by firefighters.
He was assisted to the St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital where he died.
