An investigation is in progress in the Cayman Islands into two new scams targeting Jamaicans.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) has issued an advisory warning the public to be on the look out for the schemes.

One is an investment scheme via Instagram called Flip Cash which claims to double or even triple an initial deposit in a short period.

The other is an employment scam involving a company called Sitcom Telemarketing Service, which purports to offer jobs at a call centre reportedly based in the Cayman.

It is reported that the Sitcom scam targets people in Jamaica and has been advertised on Facebook.

It claims to offer persons hourly wages, accommodation, a work permit or visa as well as 50 per cent coverage of plane fare.

The Caymanian Police had recently launched a probe into another scam in which Jamaicans were being tricked into paying money for jobs at a hotel which does not exist.
