Member of Parliament for St. Andrew South Western Dr. Angela Brown Burke has blamed the National Water Commission (NWC) for the poor state of a section of Waltham Park Road in the constituency.

In a media interview on Thursday, Dr. Brown Burke said the NWC dug up a section of Waltham Park Road for the installation of pipelines.

She said the road should be repaired under the 'Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Improvement to our Road Network' (SPARK) Programme.

"The truth is that community members are beginning to get annoyed and understandably angry about how long it is taking in terms of the state of the road and also in terms of the impact on water. I am therefore appealing to the NWA (National Works Agency) to make sure that the roads are fixed in short order."

Mrs. Brown Burke said some residents are still without piped water in the community despite commitments from the NWC that they will have the commodity soon.

She urged the entity to fulfill its promise and restore water to the area.
