A section of the Digicel Building in downtown Kingston will house the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA) headquarters, for just over $115 million in annual rent for the next five years.
The lease for the premises is valued at US$26 per square foot.
The move marks another step in the build-out of operations for the recently established agency.
It comes on the heels of the recent announcement that recruitment for positions within the Authority is proceeding on schedule.
NaRRA Chairman Ambassador Antony Anderson has announced that site visits are already underway to ensure proper use of state resources and compliance.
NaRRA says the Digicel Building was designed and constructed to withstand multiple environmental hazards and incorporates structural and engineering features intended to support resilience.
It says the selection process included a detailed valuation by the National Land Agency, which assessed the proposed cost against current market value, and what other government agencies currently pay to acquire office space.
The NLA determined that the expenditure was in keeping with existing standards and market rates.
