Victoria Jubilee Hospital is conducting an investigation into a report that a newborn was stolen on its compound.
Regional Director of the South East Regional Health Authority Errol Greene told Radio Jamaica News that preliminary information is that a woman with cerebral palsy gave birth at the hospital some time ago.
She returned to the hospital with the child.
While there, she was approached by a woman who requested that she hand over the newborn for further tests to be conducted.
Details on what transpired next as well as the date of the alleged incident are still under investigation.
