No charge to be brought in relation to death of Jamaican Peter Spencer in Pennsylvania

US authorities have announced that nobody will be charged in relation to  the shooting death of  Jamaican Peter Spencer in Venango County, Pennsylvania last December.

The shooting, which was being monitored by Jamaica's Ministry of  Foreign Affairs, has been determined to be justified as self-defense.

Venango Country District Attorney, Shawn White, made the disclosure at a news conference on Tuesday, reporting that, contrary to the popular narrative on social media, Spencer was not lured into the woods by his fellow hunters and ambushed.

Instead, he said Spencer went berserk after taking hallucinogenic mushrooms, after which he "started acting crazy".

That "crazy" behavior included firing "dozens of rounds" from an AK47 rifle.

The DA reported that Spencer was shot in self-defence by his friend, who had invited him on the hunting trip.

Spencer's family has expressed disbelief  at Tuesday's announcement regarding the probe into his killing

His mother, Icilda Spencer Hunter, said she will not stop fighting for justice for her son.
