It is expected to take several weeks before a decision is made whether to fill the Junior Minister post in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
This position became vacant due to the reassignment of Ian Hayles to the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change.
Mr. Hayles was transferred from the agriculture ministry last week following reports of a rocky relationship with the minister, Roger Clarke.
Mr. Clarke is in discussion with the Prime Minister regarding the appointment of a new Minister of State.
However, he signaled that there won't be a rush to find a replacement. “Everything will be left in her hands. She will exercise her discretion as to what we do as we move forward. For the time being there is nobody there, so we look forward to see what the situation will be in the new year.”
