The National Works Agency (NWA) is facing new challenges
in its bid to clear the nation's road network.
Speaking with RJR News Thursday morning Communications Manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw said the agency is working feverishly to clear blocked roads particularly in Clarendon and St. Catherine.
"Today we have gotten reports of blockage on the May Pen to Four Path's road there are two sections that are inundated and we have sent teams out to this control section. Also in Kemp Hill in Clarendon we are seeking to have equipment assist in this effort as we speak," said Mr. Shaw.
"In St. Catherine the efforts continue this morning at having the roadway from Glengoffe to Williamsfield reopened,"
"We also have an issue on the Mount Rosser main road where a landslide has blocked one of the carriage ways and is partially blocking another. But we have already indicated to one of our contractors to go to the area and have whatever is on the roadway removed," he continued.
