The National Water Commission says most of its customers are now receiving potable water following disruptions caused by Hurricane Beryl.
Acting NWC Communication Manager Delano Williams says the Commission has been working to restore water supply to communities in St. Elizabeth, Manchester, Clarendon and Westmoreland.
"So, we currently have just about two to three per cent of our customer base still awaiting been piped supply of water in their homes. The areas that are more challenging for us are customers supplied by our South Manchester systems.... We're also having some challenges with the restoration of the Malvern systems, which supply Malvern and sections of Southfield," he noted.
He said the entity has made progress in other area, with the Greater Mandeville system now fully operational.
"We are nearing full completion also in the Westmoreland areas. So as we speak, teams are on the ground in the Jerusalem Mountain area, we're targeting also Albany, Barnett Side, and the Cave areas over the next few days," Mr. Williams added.
