OCG submits report into DBJ probe

The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) has concluded its Special Investigation into an allegation regarding the Lease of Properties by the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ).

The properties were leased to former Solicitor General, Michael Hylton and to Nation Growth Micro Finance Limited, a company of which Aubyn Hill, former DBJ Director, is a Director.

The OCG's investigation began on March 5, following its receipt of written concerns and allegations raised by a current DBJ Board Member regarding the bank's alleged lease of the properties during the tenure of its former Board of Directors.

The Board member's concerns were forwarded to the OCG on the instruction of the Prime Minister.

Copies of the OCG's investigation into the matter have been formally submitted to Prime Minister Bruce Golding and the Finance Minister who has portfolio responsibility for the DBJ and Milverton Reynolds, Managing Director of the DBJ.

Contractor General Greg Christie has also sent copies to the Speaker of the House of Representatives the President of the Senate.

A copy of the report has also been sent to the Attorney General.
