Opposition leader Norton urges focus on vision over government power for African descendants in Guyana

The leader of the main opposition People's National Congress Reform in Guyana, Aubrey Norton, says Guyanese of African descent need a vision if they are to fully take advantage of assistance from the government.

He said the focus should not be on the government because that would give it more power than it already has.

Mr Norton asserted that Guyana needs equitable development to close the deficit by giving more to deal with the gap at the ethnic level and that a key ingredient was the development of organisational capability that would impact the family, community, and society.
