The wife of Omar Mateen, who is accused of carrying out the worst mass shooting in recent US history, is being investigated by the FBI.
According to NBC News, the FBI is considering filing criminal charges against her for failing to tell them what she knew before the brutal attack.
She told federal agents she tried to talk her husband out of carrying out the attack. The woman told the FBI she was with him when he bought ammunition and a holster. She said she once drove him to the gay nightclub because he wanted to scope it out.
Witnesses told US media that Mateen had visited the venue over the past three years.
Orlando shooting victims
Doctors treating persons injured in Sunday's mass shooting in Orlando, Florida say six patients have been discharged while 29 remain hospitalised.
Five have been described as being critically ill and sixteen in stable condition. Two persons, who fled the scene on Sunday, later turned up for treatment.
A survivor of the Orlando attack, who was shot three times, has described playing dead while Omar Mateen fired relentlessly at people on the floor.
Angel Colon told reporters Mateen had continued to shoot at club-goers who already appeared dead.
JUGC condems attack
And the Jamaica Umbrella Group of Churches has condemned the deadly attack in Orlando.
In a statement, Reverend Gary Harriott, General Secretary of the organisation, said there is no justification for hate and violence towards anyone.
Reverend Harriott called for the authorities to use the tragedy as motivation for immediate action. He pointed out that the absence of greater gun control measures has significantly contributed to the proliferation of illegal firearms in other jurisdictions, including Jamaica.
