The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) is reporting that crews carrying out anti-theft operations in St. Catherine last week removed more than 320 illegal connections from the light and power company's infrastructure.
The communities in which the teams were carrying out operations included Bog Walk, Nollis, Caymanas Bay and Glades, Orange Field, Cotton Piece, and the Dunbeholden/Portmore Lane area. Four persons have been summoned to appear in court, including the operators of two bars and a cook shop.
The JPS crew also undertook early-morning operations in the New Kendal, Manchester, where the team removed a total of 75 throw-ups. Four persons were also arrested for the illegal abstraction of electricity.
