PAHO, World Bank, and IDB join partner to strengthen health financing in the Caribbean

The Pan American Health Organisation says it has collaborated with the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank in convening a two-day interactive event, dubbed the Caribbean Health Financing Forum, in exploring avenues for strengthening health financing in the Caribbean.

PAHO yesterday said representatives from health and finance ministries across the Caribbean, including Jamaica, participated in the forum at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington.

Assistant Director, Dr Rhonda Sealey-Thomas, highlighted the region's leadership in primary health care and stressed the need for comprehensive health financing strategies.
