PEP exams to go ahead despite adverse weather

By Kimone Witter

The Ministry of Education says Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday will proceed as planned, despite severe weather conditions affecting the island.

In a media release Wednesday, the ministry said it was aware of the unease at several primary schools serving as examination centres.

Baxter's Mountain Primary, Camberwell Primary and May River Primary in St. Mary have been severely affected by the adverse weather.

As a result, the Education Ministry says it has implemented measures to ensure the safety and convenience of students.

Affected students will be allowed to sit the exam at the school nearest to their homes.

The ministry says it has coordinated with local authorities to smoothly facilitate this transition.
