The police have made a breakthrough in their investigation into the 2018 murder of a man along Patrice Drive in Arnett Gardens, Kingston.
Shevaughn Alexander Carnegie, 29, otherwise called 'Demon' or 'Negie', has been charged with the murder of 38-year-old assistant coach Oral Francis, alias 'Ruff'.
He is also facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
It was reported that about 8 a.m. on May 18, 2018, Mr. Francis was standing at his gate when he was reportedly attacked and shot by Mr. Carnegie.
He died at the scene.
The police say the accused man escaped on foot in the area.
Following extensive investigation, Mr. Carnegie was placed on an identification parade on February 27 where he was identified and subsequently charged.
