A probe has been launched following the death of a 59 year-old teacher whose body was found at her residence in Post Road, Pear Tree Grove in St. Mary, on Saturday.
The deceased, who lived alone, was last seen leaving work on Friday, at 4:30 p.m.
Concerns were raised when attempts to contact her on Saturday afternoon proved futile. A friend then visited the residence at 3:05 that afternoon and observed that the door to the living room open.
The body of the teacher was discovered, with various wounds, in the dining room.
The St. Mary Police are urging anyone with information that may assist their investigation to come forward.
