A man was fatally, allegedly a confrontation with the police along the Four Paths main road in Clarendon on Saturday.
He has been identified as 31 year-old Chevon Anthony Gidarsingh - otherwise called “Muta" - of Effortville, May Pen, Clarendon
It’s reported that a police team observed Mr. Gidarsingh walking along the Four Paths main road with what appeared to be a bulge in his waistband.
The officers reportedly approached him, identified themselves, and instructed him not to move, at which point they said he removed a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at the them.
The officers said they took evasive action and then shot him.
A .32 Smith & Wesson revolver, with a black and brown handle, containing one round of ammunition, was reportedly recovered.
He was transported to May Pen Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
