The Jamaica Police Federation says it has secured retroactive payments for added hours under the new compensation structure.
It follows discussions with new Minister of Finance, Fayval Williams.
General Secretary Sergeant Lloyd Duncan, on Wednesday, updated members of Specialised Operations on the Federation's progress at their annual conference.
Sergeant Duncan confirmed that members can expect retroactive payments for added hours to be included in their December salaries.
He announced that the payments will be non-taxed.
He said the Federation has laid the groundwork for upcoming wage negotiations.
"We will be going into a new negotiation period coming April 1, 2025. We have started to put together a proposal to present to the Minister of Finance. Shortly, the Federation will be hosting some islandwide consultation with the members," said Sergeant Duncan, who added that this will allow for the finalisation of the proposal, so the upcoming negotiations with government can be quickly concluded.
