A 23-year-old suspect has been taken into custody following the seizure of a high powered assault rifle by the St. Andrew South Police on the
weekend.
The police reported that about 11:00 p.m. Friday, a special police team conducted a targeted operation along Delamere Avenue.
The suspect ran after he was reportedly spotted with a rifle. He was chased by the police who cornered him in a one bedroom house.
The police say they found him in possession of an M16 rifle. Ten rounds of ammunition were reportedly found scattered on the floor beside him.
