Director of Elections Glasspole Brown says the Electoral Office of Jamaica is hoping to complete its elections preparations this week.
"We are fairly advanced in our preparation... a number of things that can be done before the announcement, we are well on the way to complete those," he said, adding that "the intention is to complete those before the end of this week."
He said the Electoral Office was still urging registered voters to collect their identification cards.
"While there's an increase in the number of persons doing so, we still have a number of cards remaining in offices," he said.
Mr Brown who was speaking with Radio Jamaica News on Sunday, said he was encouraged by the successful recruitment of election day workers.
"The recruitment is nearly complete now; we're just doing our final training," which should be completed "in another couple of days," he said.
