The St. Catherine North Police are continuing their investigations into two bomb threats that were issued against the Spanish Town Hospital on Thursday.
The first threat triggered a major evacuation operation at the facility, that involved moving some patients to other hospitals.
The police say about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a telephone call was received from an unknown person who reported that he had planted a bomb at the hospital.
The caller reportedly expressed disgust that the police had killed his brother, an alleged don, in the Shelter Rock area.
The hospital was visited by police officers from the St. Catherine North Police Division, Jamaica Fire Brigade and Canine Division.
The wards and the common areas were swept by the experts for any unusual packages or substances. But, nothing was found.
The police say another bomb threat targeting the hospital was made via a telephone call to the Spanish Town Police Station at 4:14 p.m., while the investigative and operational response were in progress.
The police say it appears that the threats were hoaxes, but they and the relevant agencies responded according to procedures.
The all-clear was given for occupants to re-enter the hospital building shortly after 5 p.m.
