Prosecution calls fourth witness in Tesha Miller gang trial

Racquel Porter reports

The prosecution in the gang trial of Tesha Miller and his 24 co-accused called its fourth witness on Thursday.

The witness, a Detective Corporal, formerly assigned to the Major Investigations Division, testified about a crime scene he photographed on Roger Avenue in Fairview Park in the Spanish Town area in September 16, 2017.

The case involves 16 separate incidents and up to 100 potential witnesses.

The court has so far heard evidence relating to two crime scenes and the fatal police shooting of a man in Spanish Town during an operation.

On Wednesday, a constable gave details about a scene along Ripon Road, across from Polly Royal.

Earlier in his testimony on Thursday, the Detective Corporal told the court that after photographing and processing the scene on Roger Avenue, he went to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was shown the motionless body of a Rastafarian man dressed in a gray T-shirt and jeans.

The witness, who was attached to MID at the time, said he photographed the deceased before the body was placed in a body bag.

More than 20 photographs were shown in court and admitted into evidence as Exhibit 2. The images included crime scene markers, a GPS device, a pool of blood, slippers, a motor car, and the body bag containing the deceased.

A forensic sketch of the scene was also admitted into evidence as Exhibit 3.

The witness told the court he transported the evidence to the government forensics laboratory on September 2022-2017.
