OMNI Industries is reporting a sharp increase in fourth-quarter profits and revenue, despite global logistics disruptions and the impact of Hurricane Melissa.
For the three months ended December 31, the manufacturing company posted net profit of 28 million dollars — more than triple last year's figure.
Revenue jumped 50 per cent to $616 million, driven mainly by strong demand for construction-related products.
For the full year, net profit climbed 34 per cent to $170 million.
OMNI says the post-hurricane rebuilding push boosted domestic orders, as customers accelerated purchases of construction and storage products.
The company also earmarked $10 million for hurricane relief and says its facilities were not damaged, allowing operations to resume within days of the storm.
