Rain, thunderstorms expected Tuesday through Friday

By Prince Moore

The Meteorological Service of Jamaica says unstable weather associated with a Tropical Wave currently across Hispaniola is expected to affect Jamaica on Tuesday.

The Tropical Wave is expected to merge with a developing area of Low Pressure southwest of Jamaica by Tuesday night.

This area of disturbed weather should impact Jamaica for the remainder of the week.

Consequently, the forecast is for cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, to affect sections of most parishes, especially southern parishes, beginning Tuesday afternoon through to Friday morning.

The Met Service says strong gusty winds are also expected especially across southern parishes and southern marine areas during this time.

Fishers and other marine interests, especially those inshore and offshore the south coast are being urged to exercise extreme caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms, and strong gusty winds.
