In a story we published on Christmas Day (Wednesday), President of the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees [UCASE] Vincent Morrison said some guards from Hawkeye security company had not been paid up to Tuesday evening.
Mr. Morrison has now confirmed that they were paid on Tuesday night.
Radio Jamaiaca News understands that they would normally have been paid between Thursday and Friday.
The guards, having been paid on Tuesday night, means therefore that they were, in fact, paid earlier than usual.
In the circumstances our News Centre retracts and apologises for the erroneous statement broadcast from UCASE.
