Robert Montague; New JLP Chairman

Robert "Bobby" Montague is the new chairman of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), the main opposition party in Jamaica. In elections for executive positions in the party on Sunday, Montague who had been acting in that post for almost a year, staved off the challenges of Derrick Smith, Delroy Chuck and Edmund Bartlett.

Aundre Franklin; former general secretary of the JLP, was elected deputy chairman. His old job has gone to Dr. Horace Change who defeated Joan Gordon Webley in the run-off for the position.

Karl Samuda; another former general secretary, is the new treasurer of the party, with Michael Stern, his deputy.
