The Ryanair passenger filmed launching a tirade at a Jamaican woman on a flight has apologised and denied he is a racist.

David Mesher was on a flight from Barcelona to Stansted on October 19 when he began insulting 77 year-old Delsie Gayle.

He told ITV's Good Morning Britain on Friday he was not a racist person and was in a fit of temper at the time.

Mr. Mesher said the dispute with Mrs Gayle began when he tried to  get to his seat.

In the video, Mr. Mesher can be heard being racially abusive to Mrs Gayle and threatening to push her to another seat.

Mrs Gayle and her daughter Carol Gayle have rejected his apology.

They have also renewed their criticism of Ryanair, saying they are still yet to hear from the budget airline.
