Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness has warned criminals to think twice before attempting to disrupt work on the Caymanas Special Economic Zone project.
The Prime Minister, speaking at the groundbreaking and project launch on Tuesday, insisted that no government expenditure will be funneled into the hands of criminals.
He said safeguards have been implemented to protect the multi-billion dollar investment project.
Dr Holness said the logistics infrastructure will complement the transshipment hub to facilitate transition to a logistics hub.
The Port Authority of Jamaica is to develop 50 of the 700 acres of land in the area to support the operations of the port.
